In addition, the Tamron 17-28mm has a filter size of only 67 mm, which is very small for an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens. This new lens has the same filter size as the Tamron 28-75mm, so the same lens caps and filters can be used.

Extreme close-up capabilities

The 17-28mm focuses from a very close range. The minimum focus distance is 19 cm in the ultra-wide angle position (the same as the 28-75mm) and the maximum magnification measure is 1:5.2. In the 28mm telephoto mode, the maximum magnification measure is 1:6 while the minimum focus distance is still only 26 cm. This remarkable achievement allows you to create compositions that emphasize perspective and are unique to wide-angle lenses.

Moisture-resistant construction and fluorine lens coating

Moisture and dirt-resistant seals are located around the bayonet mount and in other critical locations to prevent infiltration of moisture and/or raindrops, and to enable moisture-repellent construction.
