The Tilta Mirage VND Kit (MB-T16-A) is a lightweight, modular matte box system for video production that includes a variable neutral density (VND) filter module. It is designed for use with a wide range of lenses, from cinema-style to mirrorless and DSLR cameras, and is ideal for handheld shooting, gimbals, and drones. 

Key features

Modular design: The Mirage can be configured in multiple ways. This includes a minimalist 95mm filter holder that clamps directly to a lens or a more complex setup with an integrated lens hood, top flag, and optional filter trays

Variable ND system: The included VND module allows for precise light adjustment from ND 0.3 to ND 2.7 (1 to 9 stops), according to B&H

It features built-in hard stops to prevent the "X-pattern" shadow effect commonly associated with VND filters

The ND filter is made of high-quality optical glass with multi-coatings for accurate color rendition

Lightweight construction: The Mirage is built to be ultra-lightweight, with the lightest configuration weighing only 130g and the standard version weighing 179g, making it suitable for gimbal and drone work

Aerodynamic design: The matte box body features integrated vents to reduce wind resistance, improving stability during high-speed shooting

Wireless control support: The VND module has a geared adjustment mechanism, which can be controlled with an optional wireless motor like the Nucleus Nano for remote exposure control

Filter compatibility: The kit uses Tilta's 95mm round filter system, which is lighter than traditional glass filters. An optional filter tray can be added to support standard 4x5.65" filters

Lens compatibility: The matte box can clamp directly onto lenses with a 95mm front diameter. It also comes with four included lens adapters for lenses with 67mm, 72mm, 77mm, or 82mm filter threads
